From Edmonton to Florida
and other ways to totally screw up your internal thermostat...
I  Travel There, I've said it, and I know I'll regret admitting it when I start moaning about legroom and high altitude sinus dryness. There's such a thrill in being in one place in the morning, then a totally different place in the afternoon, though, and I'm like a 4-year old when I'm in a window seat. A very, very tall 4-year old. I've been traveling like a contestant on The Amazing Race this Fall, and my family has been absolutely amazing themselves at filling in the Annie-shaped-hole I leave when I'm not here. But travel confuses my body. Last week I was is Banff, then Edmonton - and in two weeks I'll be in Jacksonville & Miami Florida. One constant throughout all my travel, though, is my students. Every venue where I teach I'm blown away by the skill and dedication of the class participants. It's so gratifying that folks want to LEARN cool stuff, and they'll line up to fill up their knitting bag of tricks. I'm so grateful to everyone who comes to one of my classes - I hope to see you at one of my engagements this Winter or Spring! East Coast? I haven't been back east since moving from NJ, and I have to admit that I miss it. I'm scheduled to go out to Connecticut in March and hope to line up some engagements in the NYC area (NY, NJ, CT, Long Island) and perhaps up into Albany. After spending so much time away this Fall, I feel that being with the family for a prolonged span of time is very necessary. Hopefully I'll be at TNNA in Columbus in June! Designing Woman I feel as though I've been on a design hiatus for almost a year now, but slowly I'm breaking out of it. I'll have a few pieces at the Lorna's Laces booth at TNNA in Jan - which will be available for sale as pdf file patterns on my website at that point. Right now I have a new Asymmetrical Garter Swing Coat that was featured at the TNNA fashion show in June. If all goes well I'll soon start working on a new book (working title, "History on Two Needles") - keep an eye out! There, now that I've mentioned it, I've raised expectations and I can't just poop out. Or can I...? Watch & see - Mwaha haha haha!  |
