Summer in Knitsville
Hey Knitters!
I didn't send an email newsletter out last month, and I think it was like breaking a chain letter. So this month I'm NOT going to let that happen again! Besides, I pay for 5,000 email, so I'd better send them out.
You'll
notice I've cut down my teaching appreciably - circumstances compel me to limit the amount of time I'm away from home each
month. But I'm trying to make the most of my time when I'm away
teaching.

OREGON
Portland was everything I'd hoped! The shops where I taught, the
kind-hearted and quick-witted students, the beer - it was a delight!
So delightful, in fact, that I'll be returning to the Rose City
in September for classes at TKGA's Fall Knit & Crochet Show.
Thanks to Abundant Yarns and Knit Purl for hosting me!
I'll also be at a few yarn shops in the area for lectures and a book signing (and maybe even a class!) so stay tuned!

MISSOURI
I taught at The Studio in
Kansas City in May - it was a lovely spot, a little warm (well, I'm
used to Minnesota...) but the Plaza shopping area was amazing!

SUMMER
June
In June I'll be at TNNA - not teaching - but wo-manning a booth along with sister independent designers, trying to get our new endeavor, The Stitch Cooperative,
off the ground.
Although I sell a lot of patterns at my website, and some of my patterns are carried through yarn companies, I haven't wholesaled my patterns directly to yarn
shops.
The Stitch Cooperative may
be the vehicle to allow small independent designers to easily wholesale
to yarn shops. If you'll be at TNNA, stop by booth 1056 (10 years before the battle of Hastings) to check us out!

Also in June I'll be teaching at the Purljam Knitting Retreat, hosted by Mosaic Yarn Shop
in Blacksburg, VA. I love to visit VA (family roots and all that)
plus it's such a beautiful part of the country with very beautiful
and friendly people. I'm eagerly anticipating this fun weekend!
July
In July I'l be in Michigan, where I love to teach. This time I'll be in Ludington
at Nautical Yarns. I'm looking forward to the classes, but also
to the ferry ride from Wisconsin! I'm such a 4-year old... |
|
August
No teaching - family stuff!
September
Back to Portland for TKGA and some classes in the area. So far I've scheduled some at Unraveled Fine Yarns in Vancouver, WA and I may have some other venues scheduled in the near future. Stay tuned! |

October
I'm SO excited to be offering a retreat at the MeDayTo Rose Cottage
in Spicer MN in Oct and Nov! Both will be weekend retreats, the
first one concentrating on basic knitting skills, lace and some fun
embellishments. Email [email protected] for more information and to reserve space. Limit 10 students per session, and many of the spots are already taken!
November
The November MeDayTo Rose Cottage
Retreat will be project oriented, we'll work on my Universal Mitered
Handbag and discuss other types of modular knitting. We may even
get around to some entrelac if the spirit moves us! Once again,
for more info or to reserve space (limited to 10) email [email protected]
C'mon on out and see me knit!
