It's January - a new month, a new year, and we're hoping for the best*

I'm so glad that I made my last minute decision to attend TNNA - it was a great show, and I found it to be exceptionally inspirational! I designed a cardigan at the show - inspired by Vermont Organic Fibers O-Wool - and began working on a surplice top for Yarn Place out of their lovely Bel Canto. And I have SO many other ideas.

I think I'd been waiting a bit for the latch on my imagination to open - and now I know that it's not locked shut. Yay!

As beautiful as LA / Long Beach was - and it was stunning - coming home to cold Minnesota felt like the warmest welcome I could have. I love this place, we are so lucky and happy that we ended up here. Yay snow!

Classes
Below are my Spring classes - I'm traveling a lot, but not as much as I have in years past.

2007 has been a watershed for me. I'll be cutting down my teaching substantially in 2008. I only taught half as much in 2007 as I did in 2006, my goal in 2008 is to make the mortgage, but spend as much time as possible home with Gerry. I'm hoping to design more - do more at home stuff - but my teaching is still very important to me.

To that end, I'm definitely still taking engagements on, but I'm trying to consolidate as many of them as I can so that I'm away as little as possible.

February

Less is More?
The idea of cutting down my teaching is heartbreaking - I get so much from my students, and I love teaching so much.

But I have to admit to myself that I'm not as flexible as I'd like to be - often my mind is elsewhere when I'm planning a class - and it's with a heavy heart that I realize I'm not able to give 110% of myself to my students, as I'd like to.

Perhaps by teaching a bit less, there will be more of me in each class.

I hope to see many of YOU in my classes, too! You are the reaons I love to teach.
